A course exploring the Real Roots! of European traditional and renaissance music, both the music and the instruments. The focus of the course will be playing 4 or 5 part harmony. |

Anna Stegmann is recorder professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London and a virtuosic performer on the recorder. She tutors on the Easter Early Music Course and at Jackdaws in Somerset. This workshop is open to all players of not only recorders but also renaissance wind instruments and viols. Anna will be exploring... Renaissance Recycling – a workshop for all singers and instrumentalists led by Ali Kinder. This workshop will look at two examples of Renaissance Recycling, in both cases a kind of 'upcycling' from a short initial motet or chanson into an entire mass. A workshop looking at choruses from a selection of Purcell's operas and also some 'surprise pieces'! Starting with separate groups for singers and instrumentalists, led by Michael Cameron-Longden and Lynne Hope, coming together in the afternoon. |
